Who is responsible for sizing your protection mask?

In the Army, protective masks are issued by the unit's NBC NCO. He is responsible for making sure the mask you're issued fits...but since these masks are torn down regularly for cleaning, the individual soldier is ultimately responsible for sizing and fitting it.

Sizing the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) protective mask is the responsibility of every Non-commisioned Officer(NCO) in the military. When a service member is issued his or her protective mask, the NCO responsible for that service member must insure proper fit of the mask and with the assistance of the CBRN NCO for the unit assigned should perform the required vapor leak test and verify the filters for the mask are serviceable and have not reached their expiration date.
