Neither gender is smarter than the other. However, members of one sex tend to specialize and spend more time in certain areas. Our society encourages girls to socialize and chat more than it does boys. This logically emphasizes a greater facility with language. Boys receive more pressure to participate in sports and other activities emphasizing spacial relationships. Our society encourages girls to develop different intellectual abilities than boys. As a result the average girl does better than the average boy in language skills and the average boy does better than the average girl in math and spacial relations skills. No society on earth raises girls and boys in exactly the same way. It would be interesting to find one that did.

Guys are smarter than Girls in different ways, and Girls are smarter than Guys in different ways. one thing that has been tested is that schools are more adapted to girls. Girls learn more from teaching , boys tend to learn from hands on experience. A man's brain is bigger but a woman uses more of hers

I've read about 3 studies being done on this subject, 2 of them showed gender had no role in intelligence and the third study showed it was actually males that were smarter on average but this was only by a somewhat small percentage. A lot of the time though when it comes to teenagers, girls can appear smarter cause they mature faster and tend to care a little more about grades in school. Some guys may try to point out that famous geniuses are all males really like Albert Einstein, Steven Hawking, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Thomas Edison, Thomas Jefferson, and so on but that was mostly in the past when men had an unfair advantage over women. Women didn't have the opportunities to go to universities and have jobs like they do now, in fact the tables are turning around.

It depends... most girls i know (including myself) like being called smart, but it sort of on the girl... Some girls like me don't say anything at first but then if you keep on talking about it, it comes to a point where her ego comes out and her abilities start talking.

Why do guys try to act smarter around intelligent girls?
Not all guys do!!! Maybe the ones you are meeting are intimidated by you or insecure with themselves. You may also be giving off a vibe that makes them think you are judgemental. Let the guys know that you value someone who can be himself.
