Who is the Christ and where was He born?

Through out the Old Testament there are prophecies of a coming Messiah, the word Messiah (Hebrew) is the same as Christ (Greek) in the New Testament and means "Anointed One".

Jewish people in Old Testament times looked forward to when this special person would appear on earth because of the great things that were prophesied of Him. Then when the time was right God sent His only Son to earth. He was the Messiah, but the Jewish people did not recognize Him because He came to save the world through His death, whereas they were looking for a "warrior" Messiah to relieve them from the control of the Romans. The Christ was indeed crucified on a Roman cross, which is exactly what God wanted to happen in order to reconcile sinful man back to Him.

Some day very soon this Christ is coming back to earth and this time as a warrior to defeat all the enemies of God and to rule for a thousand years from Jerusalem before the Heavenly kingdom comes into effect. This Christ is Jesus Christ the Son of God and in order to go to heaven with Him you have to accept Him as your personal Savior (Romans 10:9-10).

This Jesus Christ was born as a human baby to the virgin Mary in Bethlehem and His birthday is celebrated on December 24th although that happening was so long ago that His actual birth date is not remembered.

The New Testament of the Bible has much to say about the Christ and affirms that He is the Son of God and the Savior of the world and in order to be "Born Again" you must acknowledge Him in your heart as Lord and Savior. You see when He died He took all the sin of the world within Himself and paid for it with His death.
