Originally it was named "Concord", built in 1710 in Britain and captured in 1711 by the French who renamed it "Le Concorde de Nantes".
It was then captured again by Cpt. Benjamin Hornigold in 1717.
Hornigold turned the ship over to one of his pirates, Edward Teach (Blackbeard).
Blackbeard renamed Le Concorde "Queen Anne's Revenge" and used it as his flagship.
The notorious pirate Blackbeard commandeered La Concorde, a French merchant ship, and renamed it Queen Anne's Revenge.
