Who is the present crown prince of England?

There has not been a Queen (or King) of England for over 300 years. England is a part of, but not the same as, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Some European countries, notably in Scandinavia, use the title "Crown Prince" for the male heir to the throne, but this title is not used in The United Kingdom. The heir to the British Throne is His Royal Highness The Prince Charles and in this capacity he is referred to as the heir apparent.

The Heir to the Throne is Prince Charles, therefore he could be called Crown Prince, as he was crowned Prince of Wales in 1969. Whether or not he accedes to the Throne upon the death of the Queen, is debateable, however. His second wife, Camilla, is less than popular with the people, and at age 61 he would be the oldest man to accede to the British throne. He may well decide to abdicate in favour of William, who is now nearly 28.
