Presidential succession is the order in which one person follows another chronologically in the Office of the President.
Succession refers to coming next in line. For example, in Presidential Succession, the Vice President is next in line. Secession is the process of removing one's self from a larger entity. The civil war began with the declaration of Secession (leaving the Union) by the South.
It is impossible to predict absolutely the next presidential succession in a democracy. However, one can study the trends of polls, local elections and the mood of the electorate before an election to try to get some insights.
There are 17 people in the succession list. The possibilitity that none of them would be qualified to be president is so remote that it has not been considered. If all of the cabinet were foreign born, somebody would surely notice and Congress would add to the succession list. If not, the process for choosing a new vice-president would be hastened and he would immediately become President upon confirmation.
He had pneumonia, and then he died. One of his problems was trying to figure out presidential succession, as he was aware that he might die.
It was normally passed down the family line of succession.

There are 3 types of successions. One is called ecological succession, the next is called primary succession, and the last one is called secondary succession.
Thomas Dewey is the last one I can think of. He had a mustache.

The current presidential selection system is based on an Electoral College that was first developed by our founding fathers. the system is a compromise between electing a president based on the popular vote and electing one based on Congress.
