The Catholic Church teaches that magic is an attempt to cooperate with spirits or other supernatural beings other than God, and who are not of God. Such contact or cooperation can be a form of idolatry, which is a sin. Nothing sinful - or potentially sinful - would ever come under the patronage of the saints in Heaven.
