The Legislature of Québec consists of Her Majesty the Queen of Canada, as represented by the Lieutenant Governor of Québec (s. 58 of the Constitution Act, 1867), and the National Assembly of Québec (s. 71 of the same Act). The Lieutenant Governor is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Governor General-in-Council.
