The Legislature of Saskatchewan consists of the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan (appointed by the Governor General of Canada, on the advice of the prime minister), and the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. Currently, His Honour the Honourable Dr. Gordon L. Barnhart, S.O.M., the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, represents Her Majesty the Queen of Canada for the province.
