His body was taken to the island of Iona, where he was buried at Iona Abbey, considered by Celtic Christians to be the most holy site in Scotland. According to the records of Iona abbey, there are 60 kings buried there (48 Scottish, 8 Irish, and 4 Norwegian); and at least 4 saints.

Banquo is one of the few Shakespeare characters who actually dies and falls to the stage. This is because in an open air sun lit theater, it is awkward to have a dead character get up and run off stage when the scene is over.

Why did he die on stage?

Because of the following scene.

Banquo's body falls onto the trapdoor in the stage of the Globe, and after the scene ends, he is doubtless lowered into the "world of the dead" as the audience watches.

When the next scene is underway, and it is time for Banquo's ghost to appear before Macbeth, he returns to the world of the living from the world of the dead via the trapdoor. He frightens Macbeth, and before the scene is over, retreats once again into the floor.

There are no stage directions to instruct this, but there are also none to say that the witches appear and disappear the same way. There are never directions to use the trapdoor, but we know it was used often for such supernatural occurrences.

Macduff kills Macbeth. Macduff does this because Macbeth had Macduff's wife and children killed, so basically he does this for revenge. I don't believe it was mentioned as to what happened with the body of Macbeth because this happened in the last Act and the play ended.

After Macbeth is killed by Macduff, his body is likely placed on display or given a formal burial by the victorious forces. The fate of his body is not explicitly stated in the play.
