YES. Washington was appointed a major in the Virginia militia just before the Seven Years War (called the French and Indian War in North America) and served and led with distinction in that war.

The French and Indian War was begun in 1754 when French troops were provoked by Indian attacks and expelled the colonial militia led by George Washington, which had entered the territory claimed by the French in the Ohio valley. Note: This was the first time a colonial war provoked a continental war in Europe. It was already an English and French battle, so the conflict developed into the Seven Years War in Europe.
the french Indian war broke out when George Washington ambushed some french guys at Jumonville glen. in 1754 this led to the french Indian war which led to the battle of the plains of Abraham. hope this helps :)
The development led to the fall of New France in the French and Indian War was the capture of Quebec.
it affected because alot of people conflicted the France and Britian..which led to riots through the french and indian war
Fort Necessity
The French and Indian War was NOT a nationalizing experience because it led to taxation without representation!

The American colonists believed that the whole thing that led to the French and Indian War is the argument over the territory of Canada. Most likely, Quebec.
a weakening of colonial loyalty to Great Britain
There was no US during the French and Indian War!!!The French and their Indian allies were fighting the British. Since the 13 colonies were British colonies the French were fighting the colonies. In fact George Washington served as a major in the militia of the British colony of Virginia during the French and Indian War fighting against the French. After the British won, they imposed taxes on the colonists to pay for having defended them against the French. The British also placed troops in the colonists homes to defend against any later attacks. These were two of the actions that later led to the American Revolution.
