Merry and Pippin met Treebeard which was the catalyst for the ents to destroy Isenguard. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli searched through Fangorn looking for the two hobbits and found Gandalf instead. Gandalf then led them to Meduseld where he helped Rohan become stable and ready for war.
