Flyleaf was originally started by the Guitarists, Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, as their band Sporos.Later, vocalist Lacey Mosley joined the band, and they became Listen. After going through several bassists, Pat Seals joined the band, and they changed their band name to Passerby. Because of legal reasons, they were forced to change their band name, and they became Flyleaf.
