The five pillars of Islam were not specified all together at one time. They were specified gradually. The first pillar (testimony that no God except Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger) was specified on the very start of Quran God revelation to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Gabriel (Jibril) in year 610 AD. The remaining pillars were completed some 2 or 3 years after 610 AD.
