Les Paul Guitars were first licensed and produced by the Gibson Guitar Co. - then of Kalamazoo Michigan. To this day nobody else can legally produce a "Les Paul" - they're going to be Gibson or Epiphone, Gibson's Asian-built brand. Other brands having the same general shape or features as a Les Paul will be called "Les Paul style" but will never legally carry the name "Les Paul".

∙ 13y agoThe big companies that make them are Gibson, Epiphone and Ibanez. But there are several crappy generic reproductions. Out of those three companies, the Ibanez are the hardest to find, and What most people don't know, is that UNO actually made them for a very short time. My father owned a shop in Peoria Az and he was a great customer of UNO so they let him sell the guitars, As far as the record shows, my dads shop was the only shop that sold them. Uno Later discontinued the line so that they wouldn't get into a lawsuit with Gibson. My father is one of the few who own one.
The best ones are made by Gibson.
