UMC is Union Metallic Cartridge- a maker of ammunition. Have never seen UMC on a rifle, only on cartridges.

I would really like to answer your question but I need to know the model number. Crosman has made several .22 Cal rifles over the years.

Barrett makes a range of .50 rifles, some of which are self loading (semiautomatic), and some of which are bolt action. The most famous of these rifles is the M92/M107, which is semiautomatic.
The best one you can afford that was designed for 22LR rifles.

Your Browning safari model bolt action rifle was made by FN of Belguim for Browning in the Year 1963.
I believe your Westerfield rifle was made for Montgomery Wards stores by Mossberg as their model 346K. These were made from about 1958-1971. If your rifle has no serial number, it was made prior to 1968. That was the first year that Federal law required serial numbers on rifles.
