A Wards Western Field Model 41 is a 22-caliber rifle. It was actually manufactured by Mossberg, but intended for Wards. Manufacturing took place primarily from 1935 to 1939.
your rifle was produced by mossberg. There model number is 472 PRA.
Savage made it for Montgomery Ward. It's the same as the Savage 840.
My research indicates that this rifle was a Mossberg Mod. 46 which was manufactured in the late 1930's and early 40's
Please relist your question.I am confused if you are asking about a model 270 Western Field,or are you asking about a rifle chambered in 270Win.caliber.Also list the model number of the western field you are asking about.

It was made by Mossberg. We have new firing pins. sales@countrygunsmith.net
Should be a Stevens rifle, but the peep sight would probably be aftermarket. If you can send a digital picture of the rifle and a closeup of the sight we can probably ID it for you. sales@countrygunsmith.net
You will need the services of a good gunsmith.
