The company Bazalt manufactures it, but originally it was a weapon designed by the Soviet Union. I hope that answers your question.

No. An RPG is a hand held shoulder launched anti-tank weapon.
Technically, an RPG is not a bullet- it is an anti-tank rocket. And there is no one answer- whether a tank is destroyed by an RPG will depend on exactly where- and at what angle- the rocket strikes the tank. It might be destroyed by one, or not destroyed by 10.
Unlike what most people think, rpg does not stand for rocket propelled grenade, but instead ruchnoy protivotankovyy granatomyot which is Russian. It translates into hand held anti-tank grenade launcher.
On call of duty Rpg or other launcher. In real life. Anti tank mine, javelin missile, air support or tank etc.
Curiously enough, the Russian name for this weapon has the same initials as Rocket Propelled Grenade does in English. It dates back to the 1960s. It is mainly an anti-tank weapon, but not exclusively so.I seem to remember that well on into WWII there was a shoulder held similar weapon, called the Bazooka, an US designed weapon quite effective. An earlier weapon was a PIAT, (Projectile Infantry Anti Tank) used in the 40s against tanks in North Africa. This was a spring driven weapon (!!) and had the advantage that it produced no smoke in its firing, and could be used in confined spaces. But it bruised the shoulder of the launcher. The PIAT was based on a shaped charge concept, in which the projectile effectively burned its way through the tanks armour, and the hardened steel candle in the centre sprayed much shrapnel inside the tank.I couldn't find the name of the Russian inventor. But it's out there somewhere.go for more info to wikipedia RPG-7; or Bazooka ; or PIAT
RPG-Rocket Propelled Grenade is a shoulder mounted rocket launcher.
You can use it as a weapon.
It is a relatively old Anti-tank rocket launcher. It was developed under soviet Russia but surplus weapons are often found in hands of Insurgents.
Depends on the tank, WHICH RPG (there are several) and where it is hit. In the case of the M1A1 Abrams, the hull and turret will survive survive being hit with a standard RPG-7. Tracks and running gear can be damaged. Other tanks that do not use the Chobham armor of an Abrams can be killled with an RPG. - - - - - It is extremely hard to use a handheld antitank weapon to hit anything on a tank it'd be effective against - and that goes for any tank in use today. Handheld AT weapons are really good for two things. One is taking out armored personnel carriers. APCs have much thinner hulls than tanks do, and unless "supplemental" devices like chainlink fence (seriously!) are applied to an APC a handheld AT weapon can slice through the hull easily. The other is taking out fortified positions. The M72 LAW, which the US Army issued for decades, was horrible as an antitank weapon but if you fired it through a window it would do some serious damage to your house.
RPG is in english, the intials for Rocket Propelled Grenade, which by coincidence is the same three letters in (transliterated) Russian. In the context of "rocket-propelled grenades", RPG is a transliteration of the Russian РПГ.The essence of these weapons relies on the concept of a shaped charge - an advanced but simple method of focusing the force of a blast. This concept can be traced back to a Charles Munroe in 1888 who can be credited with the discovery.Generally used in anti-tank situations, a very early one was the PIAT, (Projectile Infantry Anti Tank) which was launched from a spring-loaded tube and propelled a turnip-shaped grenade which consisted of a shaped charge and a hardened steel 'candle', which blasted through and spalled off the tank armour. In WWII improvements developed, leading to today's much improved, but still very simple weapons.Strictly speaking RPG is an initialism, not an acronym, for the resulting group of letters are not pronounceable.
You get to the top of Vinnies career!
In Battlefield 3, the RPG-7V2 is an unguided anti-vehicle weapon. It is used by the Russian forces in multiplayer, and is the counterpart to the SMAW. It is not an AT gun per se, but is in fact a rocket.
