Galileo got it right. But he had built a telescope so he had an advantage.
Galileo got his idea from a professor
Galileo's about the solar system got him arrested for a decade (10 yrs).
Aristotle's approach was not based on experimentation, or the controlled observation of physical phenomena. He concluded that if a question could be answered using reason alone, there was no reason to try to verify the answer by checking the behavior of the physical world. Galileo got his hands 'dirty', and was not afraid to make observations and devise ways to test hypotheses based on direct observation. He also mathematically quantified his observations.
He did not
yes he had three children with Marina Gamba. Marina Gamba and Galileo never got married but were in a brief relationship. but Galileo never got married.
Galileo got locked up because the people from the church didn't believe him. They were were scared about what Galileo told the people
Yes.
It was accepted.
How did you get carper stains on your Galileo thermometer ? May help with a solution for removing them if I know what is on there and how it got there :o)
I vote for Aristotle. Although he got some things wrong, he got a lot of things right and most important ,to both science and everyone, he developed the discipline of logic and taught us the importance of "reason".
they shed in the spring...i think i got that right :)
Galileo got into trouble with the Catholic Church, specifically with the Roman Inquisition. They accused him of promoting the heliocentric theory proposed by Copernicus, which challenged the geocentric view of the Church. Galileo's ideas were viewed as heretical and he was forced to recant his views under threat of imprisonment.
