"RMS Queen Elizabeth" (1940-1972) was destroyed by fire in 1972. Up until 1969 she was owned by the famous Cunard Line.
Her replacement, "Queen Elizabeth 2", was also operated by Cunard from 1969 until 2008 but is now owned by Isithimar, part of Dubai World.
The new Cunard ship "Queen Elizabeth" is not an RMS and is once again owned by Cunard.
Cunard have been owned by Carnival Corporation since 1998.
