Some newer versions get flak for their translations, but did just what the scholars who translated the King James Version did, took the original language (Hebrew and Aramaic for Old Testament and Greek for New) into the language of the day.
A committee designed for that purpose translated it. Tyndale House publishes it. However, the NIV uses manuscripts which differ considerably from the Authorized, or King James Version, which the King of England at that time authorized to be translated into English. A very godly committee did the work on the KJV to produce what has been the mainstay of Bible-believing Christian ministries for centuries.
