Fireworks on the Fourth of July are considered a public good because they promote patriotism. Cities and towns pay for the fireworks. They get the money from sponsors, donors, and their budgets.
That depends on the location. Some cities or counties put on fireworks displays, paid for with tax dollars. Some corporations sponsor the displays, and some are entirely commercial. In our community, here in Colorado, the local fire dept. raises funds in several ways - one of which are change containers for donations at local businesses.
at the Silver Dollar fairgrounds / at CSUC nettleman stadium / at the Oroville Dam This year, 2009, there are no fireworks at the Oroville Dam, the CSUS fireworks were shown last night, but not tonight. The only ones in Chico tonight (the 4th) are at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds, and there are some in Willows and Biggs.
Fireworks are used when there is a celebration, as on a holiday or at an event. Observers enjoy watching the light displays (and sometimes sounds) that are created. Their use began in ancient China, where fireworks or firecrackers were intended to scare away evil spirits.
It is not a good idea to go shopping for fireworks in France these days. Illegal fireworks groups have been cracked down and it is a big issue in France at this moment.
One could look up some companies that sell fireworks, because they have lots of pictures that promote their products. Some websites are Fireworks, Big Fireworks, Black Cat Fireworks, Fireworks Arcade, TNT Fireworks and US Fireworks. Besides that, one could look up pictures of fireworks at different websites featuring stock footage. Some examples of these who have beautiful pictures of fireworks right now are: Foto Search, Go Graph, Shutter Stock and iStock Photo and Stock Footage For Free.
The "formal" name of fireworks is "pyrotechnics"; this is not really a particularly "chemical" name.

People celebrate by going to the July 4th fireworks. They are very big part of our history. They explored the west so people can live there. Fifth Grader Right.
The fourth of July isn't a holiday in France. You're probably thinking about the 14th of July.On July 14th, 1789, the fortress and prison of La Bastille was stormed by a Parisian mob. That event marks the beginning of the historicla period of the French revolution, which led to the creation of a republic.
It can move, by wind, moles, worms, and other creatures that live in the ground. Peculiar children, listen up. Go to Myrtle Beach on July 4th. I'm tellin' you! Bring 100 cases of Big Bad Bulldog Fireworks. Have fun!

because fireworks are big and colourful
There's always a huge show at Mitchell Park/The Domes. It's quite nice, actually. Huge colorful fireworks, the kind you expect to see at a big celebration. I think they start around 9 PM.
On July 14, people gather in big cities or in front of the city hall to watch fireworks. This is a vacation day and so, nobody works. Actually, except for the fireworks, the French Revolution is just a great event which occurred a long time ago. This is no longer important for the French to know what happens. On July 14, only the fireworks and the gatherings matter to us (I'm French so...)
Not all Americans celebrate 4th July. In fact most do not. It is celebrated by citizens of the US with parties, fireworks are often included. Most Americans celebrate the 4th of July.
