Mostly Christians but some people that are not religious sometimes read The Bible. Those who want to learn about God and the stories in the Bible start reading it. __________ Those who use the Bible as a guide to life are the main purchasers and regular readers of that book. However, many people who are interested in comparative cultures - religious or otherwise - enjoy reading books such as the Bible, the Koran, the Talmud, and many other texts by which other cultures, or at least their religious believers, live. Or try to live. And those who are not devout have still absorbed a lifetime of culture which we might find difficult to understand. In the same manner we might tune into SBS, our national multicultural television station, and learn marvellous things from subtitled movies from all over the world. An example of comparative learning is that of parents who enjoy reading books they buy for their children in order to gain an understanding of the concepts their kids might absorb (and early childhood is centuries for kids), rather than assume it's purely recreational reading. And when their children balk at the sight of a horse, a dog, or a pine cone - one of my sons read a book featuring a pine cone which was really a spiky baby echidna and came snizzling out from the Christmas decorations, we understand the fears and the joys and the wonder: without reading the book I'd have had no idea what he was scared of! And even if I'd forseen that reaction and ditched the book - and that'd be pretty paranoid of me - the opportunity to examine the cone and look at the wonder of its structure and put the fear back on the branch of a Christmas tree would've been lost. So those with friends, acquaintances and colleagues from many cultures might wish to read, and enjoy reading, holy texts from cultures; cultures to which they and their friends mightn't devotedly adhere, but it gives an idea of where their ideas might be coming from...usually centuries of cultural learning. You don't have to study comparative religion to understand others, just to take an interest.

Where can I find 'we are the Bible that the world reads' in the Bible?

The phrase "We are the Bible that the world reads" is not in the Bible, partly because the writers of the Bible used "the scriptures" or "the Word" to refer to what we call the Bible. This phrase possibly comes from this quote by St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words."
