"Foreigner" sang this song back in 1984. (from the album "Agent Provocateur") It gave the band their first and only number one hit in 1985. It was written by the British singer Mick Jones, "Foreigner" co-founder/ lead singer, for his then future wife Ann Dexter-Jones. It was a gospel-inspired Ballad backed by the New Jersey Mass Choir. The band was formed in New York City in 1976 by Mick Jones, Ian McDonald and then unknown vocalist Lou Grammatico, Dennis Elliot, Al Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi. Bassist player Ed Gagliardi was replaced by Englishman Rick Wills and also Keyboardist Al Greenwood and co-founder Ian McDonald were sacked in 1979. Thomas Dolby then started playing synthesizers with Foreigner in the 80's before releasing albums of his own.
