The term used for people who slaughter horses varies according to the country they are in. In the USA it really has no term, but in the UK and many other areas it's called a Knacker or Abattoir. Also most countries other than the USA slaughter horses for consumption and as pet food. However it should be noted that most horses are not suitable for human consumption due to the drugs that are used to keep them healthy.
