What is main story line of the film west side story?
It is about a Puerto Rican* girl who moves into an American place (Manhattan*) with her family and falls in love with an American boy. But the Americans are against her family and her family is against them. So, there was a war, not a real war, but a fight in the playground by the teenage men. Her family and the Americans. But Tony, (the American boy that falls in love with the girl, Maria) tries to stop the fight, but Maria's brother kills his best friend, Riff, that was almost like a brother to him. So, Tony got so out of control that he kills the brother, but starts to cry because he killed him and on top of it lost Riff. He lets Maria know, then, her brother's girlfriend, Anita, tells the boss of Tony (where he works), that Chino, the man who was going to marrie Maria, killed Maria. But he really DID NOT! Tony gets told by his boss that Maria was killed. So Tony goes out and calls Tony and tells him to kill him, too, but then he sees Maria. But when he runs to her, Chino shoots him in the back, to get back from shooting the brother. Tony dies in Maria's arms. Tony's friends and Maria's family gathers around them..... Maria gets mad at Chino and yells at everyone, because they also killed Tony....... With hate...... The cops come and arrest Chino, then Maria's family help Tony's friends carry Tony in the ammbulance and the rest walk away. Then the screen goes black and sad music plays. I cried so much when I saw this, it is such a heartbreaking story.....
