Buddha and just about every scientist and peace loving person!
In studying physical reality it is possible people will come to see that we develop beliefs about the world that we feel to be true but can be demonstrated to be false. It is then hoped that we can see that beliefs we develop about other people that lead to hatred and violence are also likely to be incorrect so we will then be less likely to act on those beliefs.
On another deeper and more subtle level 'somatic' meditation is investigating yourself by cultivating conscious awareness of your internal sense of proprioception. This allows a person to get some understanding of how their actions and beliefs are afffected by physical activity in our body - especially the over-activity of our defensive reaction systems. A person who can moderate this over-activity changes - they are more likely to instinctively react with compassion than anger, hostility, fear or shyness. Such a person treats others better so in turn they are treated better.
In both cases direct pursuit of knowledge teaches us how our mind creates 'truths' that we strongly believe but which should be doubted. If our ego clings to these 'truths' it leads to us treating doubts about them as a personal attack and we can become aggressive. If we accept these doubts we come to respect others views and can relate to them with respect and compassion.
So anyone who has cracked the skill of somatic meditation realises that to accept truths about physical reality leads to lessening the power of destructive parts of our being and an understanding of how others are harmed by their own negative reactions. That is loving wisdom many of the great sages, prophets and saints teach. Buddha was maybe the most successful.
Thales of Miletus, an ancient Greek philosopher, believed that loving wisdom involved gaining knowledge about the physical universe by carefully investigating the nature of physical things. He is often considered one of the first philosophers in Western tradition and is known for his focus on natural explanations for phenomena rather than supernatural beliefs.
Plato believed in rationalism, which means that knowledge is gained through reasoning and intellect rather than solely through the senses. He also believed in the theory of Forms, which posits that there are ideal, abstract forms that exist beyond the physical world and that serve as the basis for understanding reality. Plato emphasized the importance of philosophical inquiry and dialectic in the pursuit of knowledge and truth.
In his Allegory of the Cave, Plato illustrates the journey from ignorance to knowledge. The prisoners in the cave represent those who are trapped in the physical world and perceive only shadows as real. The escaped prisoner symbolizes the philosopher who gains understanding and knowledge of the true nature of reality.
Plato believed that knowledge is innate and can be recollected through recollection of eternal truths. Aristotle, on the other hand, emphasized that knowledge comes from sense experience and that it is acquired through observation and reasoning about the natural world. Plato's theory is more idealistic and metaphysical, while Aristotle's is more empirical and grounded in the physical world.
Greek philosophers such as Plato and Socrates valued mental ability over physical ability. They believed that the pursuit of knowledge, critical thinking, and wisdom were essential for personal growth and understanding the world around them. Physical abilities were often seen as secondary to intellectual pursuits in Greek philosophy.
Aristotle believed in empirical observation and practical application of knowledge, focusing on the physical world and individual experiences. Plato, on the other hand, emphasized ideal forms and the pursuit of knowledge through reason and contemplation, looking beyond the physical world to the realm of abstract concepts. Aristotle's philosophy is more grounded in reality and practicality, while Plato's is more focused on theoretical concepts and ideals.
Investigating any physical phenomena, acquiring new knowledge about matter and correcting & integrating such previous knowledge.
Physical - there are no chemicals involved
Medical science is necessary for trainers, physical sciences for coaches.
Since a physical change is something that happens to you, then you and any living thing is involved in a physical change. For example, if you are growing, you are involved in that physical change, because it is happening to you. Hope this helped!!
Its a physical property as it is not involved with chemical reactions.
The greeks
Transporting and warehousing are some are some of the stages that are involved in the physical distribution process.
Physical properties like lustre cannot be determined. Chemical properties like enthalpy values is hard to determine.
Energy is always involved.
