The ban on cosmetic docking came into force on 6 April 2007 in England. It was to stop people from docking dogs for showing and other cosmetic reasons. Now it is only legal to dock a dog's tail if it is going to be used for work and never enters a show ring.
It is against the law to dock a dog's tail in Australia and the UK. If you do dock a dog's tail in Aussie or UK you can face fines up to $37,500. However in the UK dogs that are classed as "working dogs" at the moment can have their tails docked by a vet - however you must prove the puppy is a working dog.
yes when animal welfair law was updated like tail docking, descenting is now illegal
Tail docking is banned in the UK, and in some other countries, check the law for your country, otherwise you could have charges of animal cruelty brought against you. Docking should always be done by a veterinarian.
A dog wags its tail and the tail wags the dog.
why do you want to mutilate your dog? The cutting of any dogs tail (including Boxers) is illegal and punishable by law in most well educated countries including Australia. The Dog Societies and Breeders have agreed to change their judging requirements for the breeds that used to have docked tails accordingly.
This isn't a law question but I'll answer it anyway. You can tell a happy dog by:the C curvature of its tail a dog that holds its tail up in a C shape is a happy caninea playful, joyous naturestrong posture when walkingcurious nature in the environment (sniffing scents etc)plays with its toyssmiles (yes they do smile)
go to the vets and i think that illegle now Only Veterinarians should do it. It is not necessary to dock a Dobermann's tail. As you do not say where you live it is now illegal in many countries to do so including Wales, Scotland and England. Large fines could be involved and possible confiscation of dogs.
That a state had the right to ignore a law, if it thought the law was unconstitutional
No it's very legal there isn't a law against it or anything. But people dock the tail so that can enter their Schnauzers in dog show and such. I think it should be illegal because how would someone like it if someone cut of part of their leg or something?

No, theyre are not born without tails. It has been a tradition to cut off a rottweiler's tail from a young age. This was done because they had a powerful tail and would hit it againt things and hurt themselves. However, the law has now changed so that it is illegal to cut off a rottweiler's tail.
