The Sons of Liberty.
December 16, 1773,at nightand at the harbor, where they threw out the tea into the ocean
December 16 1773 was a Sunday. It was the day of the Boston tea party, when 150 sons of liberty dressed as Indians and boarded three british ships filled with tea and threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor.
People threw tea into the water during the Boston Tea Party as a protest against British taxation without representation. The American colonists were frustrated by the Tea Act of 1773, which granted the British East India Company a monopoly on tea sales in the colonies and imposed taxes. The act was seen as an infringement on their rights, leading to the symbolic act of dumping 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor on December 16, 1773, as a statement of defiance against British rule.
since I was there 200 years ago, I know the exact time.... it happened at night time and I saw lots of people throw tea on December 17th, 1773....like c'mon....who would know the exact time... all the people who were there are DEAD.
it was in 1773
that was how they protested. they also could have boycotted the tea.
It wasn't the natives! It was colonists who threw the tea into Boston Harbour. They were protesting against having to pay taxes to England. Later known as The Boston Tea-Party, it was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, on the 16th December 1773.
In 1773, Parliament (the British, of course) passed a new law which imposed a tax on tea without the colonies' agreement. In response , the Bostonians disguised themselves as Indians and boarded three British ships and threw 342 chests of tea into the water. This event came to be known as the 'Boston Tea Party. Its result was that the British government closed the port and imposed punishments on the colonists - which led to the War of Independence.

Hoping to help the British East Indian company out of it's financial problems, Parliament passed the Tea Act in 1773.
