Nedeljko Cabrinovic was the man who threw the bomb at the Archduke's motorcade.
The throw was off and the bomb bounced off the car and it exploded under the next car in the motorcade, disabling the car and wounding 20 people.
Cabrinovic then attempted suicide to avoid capture, but was arrested.
He was tried and convicted of his crime, but was not executed since he was only 17 and legally considered a child. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. he died of tuberculosis in 1916.

A hand grenade.
That's an unusual grenade you have there. I'll need another grenade, Sarge!
A frag grenade is a sphere shaped grenade and a pineapple grenade is narrow but some what wide, but there is no difference in explosions. I mean, one might go farther when you throw it but who knows.
It uses the word "passed" as part of a metaphor.
It is unlikely there was any potential for the grenade to be live. In the movie "Captain America:First Avenger", Tommy Lee Jones's character, Colonel Chester Phillips, lobs a grenade at the recruits at Camp Lehigh to prove a point to Dr Erskine. He gets the grenade from a box marked "M56 Training Grenades". It is probable that such inert training "dummy" grenades also appeared different to live ones to prevent confusion: Modern training grenades are colour-coded to prevent accidents.
A grenade can be a variety of different colors. The M67 grenade is an olive green with a yellow band at the top
The hand grenade hasn't been replaced - it's still in use worldwide, even with the most technologically advanced military forces. Rifle grenade launchers, grenade launchers, and underbarrel grenade launchers were developed not to replace the hand grenade, but as a means of filling the gap between a thrown hand grenade and a mortar.
