Nobody.

According to Wikipedia Ringo Starr played drums and assorted percussion (tambourine, bongos, cymbals, maracas and vocal percussion), piano and sleigh bell (on "Don't Pass Me By").

Nobody; they worked around him, and he returned after only a couple weeks gone. All of the other Beatles could actually play drums; John Lennon least of all, but he could keep a beat. (Lennon was much more skilled with other percussion instruments.) Paul McCartney in fact had replaced Starr's drumming on a song, when he wasn't satisfied with it, and this was what prompted Starr to walk out in the first place.
