The reigning British Monarch gives a speech to all the Commonwealth realms at Christmas. The tradition began with King George V in 1932. His Granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth ll, continues the Christmas speech tradition. Originally a radio broadcast the speech is now prerecorded and shown on television and the internet.
