The earliest known civilization in the world was the Mesopotamian civilization. This started about 3300 BC - 750 BC.
The first civilization that we know of were the sumerians. The Sumerians had a writing system called Cunieform. They lived in cities and each city was ruled by a different King. They believed in many gods who controlled the forces of nature.
The earliest one I can prove to you is the Thracian's. However I have seen a reference to a people called the Sumerians that lived in the mountains of the Northern Black Sea. 8000bc. I have had great difficulty finding any other references to these people's you can find one post it. Then I saw a reference to a temple in Turkey, if I research it I will lose this post.
After that Civilization was the other very famous civilization called Mesopotamia.
