He was the younger brother of king Louis XVI and king Louis XVIII and uncle of the uncrowned Louis XVII.

He reigned from Sept.1824 until 2 Aug. 1830. The "July Revolution" of that yearcompelled him to abdicate and went to exile.

He was the second last kingof France and the last from the kings of the House of Bourbon.
