Ireland does not have a deputy prime minister or a prime minister. The head of an Irish government is known as the Taoiseach. The Taoiseach's deputy is known as the Tánaiste. The Tánaiste in 2010 was Mary Coughlan.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, up until 24 June 2010, was Julia Gillard. A leadership challenge within the Australian Labor Party resulted in the resignation of then-PM Kevin Rudd, and Julia Gillard being elected as Prime Minister. The Deputy Prime Minster then became Wayne Swan.

Lawrence Gonzi was the Prime Minister of Malta in 2010. Leader of the Nationalist Party, Gonzi was appointed as Prime Minister on 2004 March 23, following the resignation of Edward Fenech Adami as party leader. Gonzi has also served as Minister of Finance and he served as Deputy Prime Minister for 5 years before becoming Prime Minister.
