Jesus is the son of God, and came into this world to save sinners, and fulfill the prophecies.
Jewish people follow God, not Jesus.
Christians...
disciples
Jesus allowed any one and everone who wanted to follow him, to follow him.
Only Jehovah's Witnesses
Oprah
He didn't; the people who chose to follow Jesus named themselves Christians :)
They are very committed to teaching and missionary work.
Christians are People that claim to follow the teachings of Jesus christ.
Christian Anarchists follow Jesus' teachings, there are a few others as well but I can't think of them off the top of my head. However, Jesus was not a commander, dictator or strict parent and so did not demand that people "obeyed" him. Rather people chose to follow Jesus if they believed in his teachings.
People might have been drawn to Jesus by his teachings and his miracles, but they were not inspired to follow him, as is illustrated at his trial and crucifixion when everyone rejected him and fled away. (Mathew 26.56) Only after the gift of the Holy Ghost and the preaching of the disciples did many people follow him
Jesus allowed anyone and everyone to follow him. The ones he actually chose were tax collectors and fishermen. This is amazing because Jesus the LORD of heaven and earth chose some of the most lowly and hated people of this culture to be his disciples.
