The story of Job can be found in the book of Job. It is a dramatic poem and is probably the oldest book of The Bible, and was certainly written before the giving of the law. Job, a good man, suffered a great deal of personal tragedy. The entire book deals with the question, "Why do people suffer?"
Job, an Old Testament believer endured a period of devastating loss. His belief in God's promise of a future resurrection from the dead kept him going.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Job 19:25,26
Job acknowledged God as the source of all goodness in life and his focus on God's deliverance helped him not accuse God of injustice while enduring an extremely trying time.
Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful [compassionate], and of tender mercy. James 5:11
“The patience of Job” can be understood as the patient endurance of Job due to his hope in God. His example inspires us to remain mindful of the rewards we will receive for our faithfulness.
Job from the Bible was a good and prosperous man. He was rewarded for all of his travails by Jesus.
Jobe.
The Bible does not give this detail and so it probably never will be known. The focus in the story is on what Jesus did for him.
