Robert C. Wickliffe (born January 6, 1819 in Bardstown, Kentucky; died April 18, 1895 in Kentucky) succeeded Paul Octave Hébert as the fifteenth Governor of Louisiana, serving between January 22, 1856 and January 23, 1860.

Following the end of Wickliffe's term as Governor of Louisiana, Thomas Overton Moore (born April 10, 1804 in Sampson County, North Carolina; died June 25, 1876 near Alexandria, Louisiana) became the sixteenth Governor of Louisiana, serving between January 23, 1860 and January 25, 1864.
