Nicholas Romanov was the last tsar of Russia. He married Alexandra, a German princess this caused a lot of grief in the first world war. Together he had five children, Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastacia and finally a son, Alexei. Unfortunately Alexei had the deadly disease hemophyllia (dont know how to spell it) its where the blood doesnt clot to stop bleeding. Alexandra invested in the religious help of a Russian monk called rasputin, if you've seen fox's anastacia the name'll ring a bell. The Russians didnt like rasputin. Nicholas was said to have being ignoring the countries starving people etc he and his family were arrested and the throne was taken from nicholas. The close knit family was taken from palace to palace where finally they were taken to Siberia. On the night of 18th of July 1918 where they were taken to the basement after being told they were having their photographs taken to prove they were still alive. There they were shot dead, their bodies were covered in sulphic acid and dumped in mineshaft. Now all the bodies have been found and laid to rest at St Petersburg cathedral, they were all made into saints. For a brief period of time there were rumours that the youngest romanov girl, Anastacia ha in fact survived. A woman named Anna Anderson claimed to be her but after Anna Anderson's death her DNA was taken and it was proved that she had been lying. In fact historians found that it was not in fact Anastacia's body that was missing it was Maria's.
