St. Jesse is usually given as a form of Josse - the french original or Judoc the Breton/English form. He was a 7th century Breton nobleman, who eventually became a hermit, after his death c668, a monastery was built on the site of his hermitage; when this was under attack, the monks fled, taking the saints remains to England, where they were reburied in Hyde Abbey, Winchester - where they remained until the Reformation destroyed them. Never officially canonised, his cult became widespread during the Middle Ages, along English trading routes - Scandinavia, Low Countries and Germany - where he was called Joos, Joost and Jocelyn. Chaucer has the Wife of Bath swearing to truth 'by St. Joce' - our saint. Feast day 13th December.
