ANSWER!!! Saint Noel was born on February 2 near Mende, France. He joined the Jesuits in 1630 and by 1643 he was a missionary to the Huron Indians in France. He became assistant to Father Charles Garnier at the Indian village of Etarita in 649. He was murdered on December 8 by an apostate Indian while returning from a visit to neighboring Ste. Marie. He was canonized in 1930 by Pope Pius XI as one of the martyrs of North America .
