A general with very low ability in tactics on a battle field. Only campaign he won was battle for Atlanta because war was basically over at the time and he outnumbered the confederates by more than two to one. Even then his troops were sometimes slaughtered because of his poor battlefield decisions. At Kenesaw mountain 3000 union dead with 230 confederate dead. His march to the sea was basically a war on women and children but a way for him to get into the history books, had he been captured I feel he probably would have been hanged for crimes against humanity. Apparently he was however quite a horse thief!!robber of the nineteenth century? all of this is my opinion of course.
Please provide evidence of these charges.
