Life as a villein?

Life as a villein! Ello there m'name is Adney Atkins and 2 years ago I lived a life as a villein. A villien is a person who is bound to land and owned by the feudal lord basically a slave who doesn't have freedom or dignity, we had to work for the lord day and night and extra work if needed for something important. A lot of us villein's have had enough of being bossed around day and night while paying our taxes and we thought that took the Shakespeare and I thought gossling Googleberries that's the end of them dragging me around ,at midnight I shall make my escape to town but hell I am going to have to stay there without being found for 1 year and 1 day luckily I am not the lord's stinking enemy. " cloths, water , food….." oh there you are I was just packing for my mission impossible. After when I got in to town everything was so different no peasent's but the excitement stopped right there. Knights with horses filled the crowd looking for a poor soul villein trying to save his life but in less than a second I was located and was taken back. Funnily enough the king letted me go because he saw in my eyes I have a future worth living for and so did the others and said this isn't the end ,we will meet again when the Pandora opens and when silence falls as he whisperd in my ear but what in the name of the mother parsnips did that mean you overgrown furball. and do you know what i think the Pandora is just a fairy tale. What is the difference between a villein and a freeman from the medieval times?

There are lots of differences between Freemen Villeins such as villeins had to stay on the lord's land all of their life and didn't get paid. On the other hand freemen got paid, and could own a small bit of the lord's land if they paid for it. Another difference is that Freemen were allowed to live where they wanted to. The villeins had to get permission for everything, from using the town oven to who they were allowed to marry. Were as Freemen were allowed to do things with out the lord's permission.

What did villains do for the lord?

First off it's villein. They would work the Lord of the Manor's land. A villein and his family would have a little bit of land for themselves too. If you were a villein, you were at the bottom of the feudal system; it would be very hard for a villein to move up the system.
