Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch since the 1600's through 1941. The Nederland and Great Britain attacked Indonesia from 1945 through 1949 to reinstall the Dutch colonial government in the free country Indonesia. Obviously they failed.

Indonesia was the Dutch colony known as 'Dutch East Indies' and had a colonial government before WWII, whereon it was invaded by the Japanese who destroyed most evidence of Dutch colonial rule.
