There was only one person that was "important" to Mother Teresa, that was Our Blessed Lord (Jesus Christ). Even when she could no longer hear Him, He was her whole life. Everything she did in her life was to please Him. In her daily life the Bishops who were in charge of the diocese that she was in were very important to her, as was the holy Father, Pope Pius XII. Archbishop Perier was the bishop who applied to Rome for her to leave her order with the Loreto nuns and found the Sisters of Charity. She had a lot of correspondence with the Archbishop over the years. Her confessors and spiritual directors were also very important to her. One of her confessors early on was later consecrated Archbishop of Calcutta, Bishop Picachy. There were also a group of women who joined the sisters in their work of ministering to the poor. This woman were suffering souls in the world who through illness or disabilty had a great deal to offer up to God, and did offer it in union with the Sisters. Mother referred to them as their "other selves". A woman named Eileen was Mother's "other self" and several of Mother's letters to her survive. But in the end, it was only Our Blessed Lord to whom Mother turned in all things and through whose eyes she looked at all. All the "important" people in Mother's life, from the clergy to the poor were important because of her great love for Our Blessed Savior.
