By using no violence for the civil rights movement.
Martin Luther King (Jnr), originally Micheal Luther King (Jnr), didn't believe in violence and took it upon himself to end segregation in the USA. He succeeded. He believed that Violence, when used, only increased the violence. A quote from his speech shows this remarkably well; 'Violence only begets violence... Hate cannot end hate, only love can do that'
To eliminate discrimination and prejudice without using violence.
Most people wouldn't consider Martin Luther King as their role model, how ever Martin Luther King Jr. was a man who fought peacefully for civil rights, and on many terms won, people do and should consider him a role model because he shows that you can obtain your goals without violence.
