Well, First , lets clue in the rest of the community :

"The Prophet" Nat Turner led the Largest Slave Uprising in the History of the United States in August , 1831 :

In what was described as a 48 Hour Rampage and Terror campaign, Turner and his fellow salves killed 55 people ( some reports say "up to 60", However, the rebellion started outside the town of Jerusalem and eventually moved toward the town itself which led to to the first of several confrontations that resulted in arrest or death of the gang members) .

Turner himself escaped the original confrontation to kill or arrest the gang and was later captured and hanged with 16 of his henchmen.

Nat Turner was described as religious and suffered several Visions from which he allegedly based his actions.

Taking several events as Signs , eventually culminating in the August rampage, Turner and as many as 40 other Slaves began their killing spree.

On November 5, Nat Turner was tried in the Southampton County Court and sentenced to execution.

To respond to the Question directly of " Who Caught Nat Turner?" : A Search Party Dog Found him and led the Humans to his hiding place : the Dog's Name was not named in the Histories that I could discover.
