Eva Peron (1919-1952) was Argentina's greatest female leader. While she did not become president like Cristina De Kirchner, her influence as a state minister and First Lady helped to build Argentina's Justicialist Party into the electoral powerhouse which it remains today.

Prior to marrying Juan Peron she was a famous actress and socialite in Beunos Aires.

She took ill and died in 1952 yet she remains an important symbol of Argentinian unity to this day, and her life inspired both the careers of Cristina Kirchner and Yulia Tymoshenko, the prime minister of Ukraine.
