Genocide is defined as "the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group." The Ottoman Government was responsible for the Armenian Genocide. To be specific Envar, Jemal,and Talat-pasha were the main people who organized the genocide. The killings were an attempt to wipe out the Armenians and rid them from Turkey. The reason you hear many people complaining/talking about the Armenian Genocide,and not the Holocaust, is because the Turkish government has not accepted the Armenian Genocide. They say it was a civil war, not a genocide, and they teach that to the children in the schools.
