Sherman as the thirteenth Governor of Iowa, serving between January 14, 1886 and February 27, 1890. Following the end of Larrabee's term as Governor, Horace Boies (born December 7, 1827 in Aurora, New York; died April 4, 1923 in Long Beach, California) became the fourteenth Governor of California, serving between February 27, 1890 and January 11, 1894.
